Why Dance 23?

People often ask us where our name comes from! When it was time for our school to begin an exciting new chapter, we knew we didn't want to choose a name on our own. Instead, we turned to the people who know our school best—our students and their families. We invited everyone to share their ideas, and after receiving so many wonderful suggestions, we selected our favourite three. Then it was over to our dance community to cast their votes and choose the winning name. The result was Dance 23. The 23 is a nod to our Christchurch postcode, celebrating the community we're proud to call home and the place where so many of our dancers begin their journey. For us, Dance 23 is more than just a name. It's a reminder that our school is built around the people in it. We believe our students and families should always feel heard, valued and part of our journey, and we couldn't think of a better way to start this new chapter than by choosing a name together.

Do you offer a trial?

Yes! We offer a 4-week trial for just £10. During your trial, your child is welcome to explore as many dance styles as they'd like, giving them plenty of opportunity to discover the classes they enjoy most.

What should my child wear to their trial?

No dancewear? No problem! For their trial, comfortable clothing such as leggings, shorts or joggers with a t-shirt is absolutely fine. The most important thing is that they can move freely and feel comfortable.

What opportunities do you offer?

This is one of our favourite things about Dance 23! Alongside weekly classes, students have the opportunity to take part in up to four performances each year, as well as work towards RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap and Rambert Contemporary examinations for those who choose to.

What is the youngest age you accept?

Our youngest class is Primary Dance, which is suitable for children aged 5 years and over.

How are fees paid?

Lesson fees are collected through monthly recurring payments via Stripe. We spread the cost of the academic year evenly over 12 monthly payments, making fees predictable, easy to budget for, and completely hassle-free.

How do I know which class is right for my child?

Choosing the right class can feel overwhelming, but we've made it simple! Just click Book a Class, enter your child's age, and you'll see all of the classes available for them. If you'd like a little extra guidance, we're always happy to help you find the perfect fit.

When should I buy a uniform?

There's no rush! While all classes have a uniform, we recommend waiting until your child's 4-week trial is complete before purchasing one. That way, you can be sure they've found the class that's right for them.
